David Giuliani is the CEO and co-founder of Pacific Bioscience Laboratories. Previously, he was CEO and co-founder of Optiva Corporation – the fastest-growing privately held U.S. company in 1997, according to Inc. Magazine. Under his leadership, Optiva developed, manufactured and marketed Sonicare®, the revenue leader in power toothbrushes. He sold Optiva in 2000 to Philips Oral Healthcare. Giuliani was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year for the USA” by the Small Business Administration in 1997. He also was a featured speaker at the White House Conference on Corporate Responsibility in recognition of his innovative business practices. Giuliani received his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He studied graduate-level electrical engineering and business at Stanford University, and has authored more than a dozen U.S. patents.
